Olivia helps people who want to gain greater understanding about themselves and their environment. Her clients are self-aware and struggling with their sense of self. They have been historically minoritized and sometimes have never been in therapy before.
Olivia believes therapy is a healing, safe space; a place to deconstruct; and a place to increase awareness and insight about the self. She understands that therapy is a space to learn how past experiences can play out in the present and how attachment styles and trauma can impact current and future relationships. In her relationship with clients, Olivia pays attention to how people view themselves individually and relationally with others. She approaches clinical work with warmth, empathy, and from a place of equality. In sessions, you will be curious and wonder together as you build insight and lower distress.
Olivia believes people are resilient, strong, and relational. She is strongly influenced by justice and equality for all.
At Relational Psych, Olivia specializes in trauma and issues core to identity, specifically those who are deconstructing or reconstructing aspects of their sexuality, spirituality, gender, or ethnicity. She is certified in EMDR and practices from a client-centered, insight-oriented, psychodynamic approach with adults, adolescents, and children. She is relationally focused and utilizes a strengths-based lens to empower, increase resilience, and promote positive well-being. She is currently deepening her understanding of multiculturalism and practicing psychodynamically with children and adolescents.
In her personal life, Olivia enjoys allergy friendly foods, dogs, nature, and spirituality. Olivia is originally from California and moved to Seattle to work with Relational Psych.
