Jessica helps people who want more self-compassion, more insight into past patterns that are affecting current dynamics, and more authenticity in how they live day to day. Jessica helps the “helper” in the family who is burnt out and stuck. Jessica is a therapist for people with a history of trauma that’s not just theirs; it is also trauma that has been passed down generationally and within a larger sociocultural context.
She understands that your story has had many characters in it, some who may always be a part of it, and you may need support understanding how your values can coexist and conflict with your needs.
Jessica helps people who are willing to learn and grow from the therapy process; people who are curious; people who are willing to be vulnerable, come as they are, and show up to share their story. Jessica believes therapy is a place where you can be human and work towards being your authentic self, which she models by being a real person with you. In the therapeutic relationship, Jessica prioritizes curiosity and warmth so that you have a safe place to explore, think, feel, and be. In contrast to other relationships you may have been in, you’ll have a space to speak about what’s happening between you without fear of her anger or abandonment. Jessica is motivated to help clients feel valued. She is curious and warm and will help you be brave.
Jessica believes people are multidimensional and complex with both strengths and vulnerabilities: together you will draw out your strengths and take care of your vulnerabilities. Jessica practices from a psychoanalytic frame and personalizes interventions to meet her clients needs (which may mean she integrates CBT or DBT principles). She is currently deepening her understanding of attachment based therapies and integrating creative therapies like yoga, art, and music.
In her personal life, Jessica enjoys learning new things and going new places. Some of her favorite things are doing yoga, being outside, eating tacos, and listening to podcasts.
