You are thoughtful, curious, introspective, and also experiencing deep pain. You're struggling to make sense of what you're feeling, why you're feeling that way, and how to manage those emotions. It's probably been this way for a while and you've tried really hard to get yourself out of it. You're frustrated, confused, and tired of feeling so much all the time.
James helps people become resilient. He helps those who feel like their drifting become more grounded; those who feel fragile become stable and sturdy. He helps clients learn to tolerate and soothe their emotional pain and experience more fulfilling relationships.
James values honesty and courage. He'll encourage you to say what you think and help you find yourself if you don't know. He'll be non-judgmental about who you are, what you say, and how you feel. He'll be compassionate with you (especially if you're struggling to be compassionate with yourself). He'll be curious. James will show up as a real person with you and the relationship you build together will be a tool for supporting your personal growth.
James believes that many of your psychological symptoms (like depression, anxiety, obsessions, panic) are the product of deep, unacknowledged, and unresolved psychological pain. He believes that psychological healing and freedom from emotional pain happens when you develop emotional and intellectual insight about your life. Your work will involve pain and joy. Together, you will discover the truth of yourself; this journey takes courage and he looks forward to walking it with you.
Outside of work, James enjoys technology, working on cars, playing and watching sports, listening to music, going to concerts, and reading. He really enjoys spending time with his family and DIY-ing around the house.
